This follows the re-appointment of
Wally Stone as the chairman of the
New Zealand Tourism Board.
Wally has served on the board since
1999 and was appointed as

Wally has made an enormous
contribution to the NZTB over the past five years.
“I am delighted that he has agreed to
hold the position of chairman for
another three years,” the Minister
says.
“As the executive chairman and a
founding director of Whale Watch
Kaikoura, he has extensive
knowledge of the tourism industry.”
Wally Stone was a member of the
tourism sector steering group that
developed the New Zealand
Tourism Strategy 2010 and served as
a judge for British Airways Tourism
for Tomorrow Awards Asia-Pacific
region from 1995 to 1999 and the
New Zealand Tourism Awards
from 1998 to 2001.
